Our Studio

Our studio in Stratford, Ontario houses both our production facility and our design space. The wood-paneled walls and large windows create an inviting space for exploring new designs, drafting current commissions, and crafting our furniture and cabinetry projects.

We approach every project as a collaboration between the shop and our client. This iterative design process allows for client involvement throughout the design and construction phases of a project. The result is finely-crafted furniture that is supremely beautiful and thoroughly functional. We invite you to stop by to discuss a potential project, peruse our inventory of beautiful live-edge slabs, or view some of our completed projects or works in progress.

Andrew Hunter

Andrew began his woodworking endeavors more or less on a whim. After moving to Ottawa in 2012, he studied and completed the Furniture Making course at Algonquin College. Feeling that the capital city wasn’t where he needed to be, he moved west to Toronto to continue working in the trade. After a spell building and installing kitchens and bathroom vanities he shifted his employment to building custom furniture at Akroyd Furniture.

Whether it be the reliable mortise and tenon, the elegant and traditional dovetail, or the elusive fox-wedged tenon, Andrew likes a tight fitting joint. The dressing of the boards and the smell of cherry wood are always a delight to him. He has traveled a fair amount and worked jobs in scores of industry, but woodworking gives him great pride.
